History of Damon’s
Since opening its doors in 1988, Damon’s Restaurant has become one of the most iconic restaurants in Lincoln and one of the best-known American dining destinations in Lincolnshire.
Located on Doddington Road just off the A46 bypass, Damon’s introduced a unique American-style restaurant experience to Lincoln, combining award-winning BBQ ribs, steaks, burgers, seafood and cocktails with a lively, family-friendly atmosphere.
The original Damon’s franchise was brought to Lincoln from America by local businessman John Foulston, who owned his own construction company. Wanting to create something truly memorable, the restaurant was designed by renowned Lincolnshire architect Sam Scorer – famous for his bold and innovative architectural designs throughout the county.
The building quickly became a Lincoln landmark thanks to its instantly recognisable roof structure, designed to resemble a rack of ribs. Opened officially on 17th July 1988, the restaurant remains one of the city’s most distinctive and recognisable dining venues today.
Over the decades, Damon’s has built a loyal following across Lincolnshire and beyond, becoming famous for its slow-smoked barbecue ribs, 35-day aged steaks, legendary onion loaf, homemade chicken wings and handcrafted cocktails.
As a proudly family-run restaurant, Damon’s continues to focus on quality ingredients, freshly prepared food and exceptional hospitality. Many members of the management team began their careers within the business and worked their way through the ranks – a reflection of the loyalty, passion and commitment that has shaped Damon’s for more than 35 years.

Famous Steaks
The highest quality grade in terms of tenderness, juiciness and flavor…
This quality grade is determined by maturity and marbling scores, with abundant marbling being required. A very low percentage of the nation’s beef supply earns the designation of “Prime” beef. Our Prime Beef at Damon’s is aged for 35 days and is custom-cut per Damon’s specification, by network of experienced meat cutters, which assures the highest quality. Our meat arrives fresh to our locations ready to partake in the ultimate dining experience!
